On Mission in South Africa

I am still in the beautiful and changing South Africa. I preached in two rural towns the last week. Creighton and Ixopo. They are farming communities and rich in history. Both towns are in the midst of sociological change and that is requiring an adjustment of strategy for the church as well. It was exciting to see such a positive response to the message in both locations. Several gave their lives to Christ while many others expressed a renewed excitement for the vision God had given them in their new communities. Here are a couple of pictures of the places where I served. I am now off to the mountains for four days in Matateile and then back to Bela Bela and the TSEASA training center with Jan and Erica Viljoen and then home. I will update as I can and as always your comments are enjoyed. Live fast!!!!! It's over quicker than you think!

David, The pictures reflect a serene and beautiful place...not usually my first thoughts of South Africa! We are so glad that doors continue to be opened for you there. Having lost a young friend of ours this summer, it has become increasingly real to us that life does indeed pass by more quickly than we think it will. And even though the world is moving at a very fast pace, I don't think we always "live fast" in it. I think we often get caught up in the mundane events of our day-to-day existence, and we forget to truly live life. Eric and I are working on doing a better job of doing and enjoying the things that are most important in these brief moments we are given on this earth. Have a safe journey home....

  3. David,
So glad you have a blog! I found it through my sis. I am glad I can keep up with where you are, Trey and I will be praying for you and your ministry. When you get together with Amy in Fort Worth, we're coming too!
    Love to you and yours,
    Sherry

Why don't you send your hubby off to Pakistan with me in Nov? Much more productive than Elk hunting! Ha hA! Sherry, you must stay in touch. It is so good to hear from you and we do all need to get together. Let's meet at the City Club next time you come to DFW to visit!
