Ethiopia ends and China Begins

Well, as the week came to an end in Ethiopia, we were able to see God's hand in all that had happened. Dr. John was able to receive some financial help from his church and Innovative Ministries, the bills were paid, the Bibles were furnished through some sacrificial gifts, a church was strengthened through the purchase of some materials and pews, and we were blessed and encouraged by all of the people who helped us in an awkward situation. Dr. John and I boarded a plane for home and debriefed the project as well as formulated plans for future opportunities for Pastor training this August in South Africa. When we arrived back at DFW it had been 15 days since I had been home and I had 8 hours to kiss my wife and kids, eat a meal, re-pack, pay the bills, and board another plane to China. A real blessing for me was when I discovered each of my children had made special arrangements to be home with me during my brief stay. I was able to have a meal with them, visit my Mom and Dad, and then go to work. Well, just as I finished my last bit of paper work, the alarm went off and it was time to head back to the Airport at 4:30 in the morning. Wew, just writing this makes me tired! Ha Ha! This time I was beginning a journey to the inner regions of China! Wow, who came up with this plan called the life of David Burk? I have so much fun!!!!!!! Myself, Jason[mission Pastor of our church] Alan,[mission council chair of our church] Gary,[Pastor of our church] Met Lonnie Diggs, the director of G-Tech Foundation in China and our journey begins. The flight was great, I slept from San Francisco to Beijing! Can you believe it? I did not even eat the meals! Haha! Well, that is enough for today, I will write and give more pics tomorrow! The pics are of Jason and their adopted/adopting son Max, Alan and I on the Great Wall, and the group with a Chinese official in Xin-ing. Hey, it is good to be back in touch! Stay tuned and keep in touch! Love you all, from El Paso! David
