Back from Alaska and Off to South Africa

Garrett and I just returned home from a really quick trip to Alaska. This was the place where TSEA started 20 years ago. It was a great time of fellowship with friends and a little fishing with Garrett, but it was also a surreal experience. The only member of the church that was there when I was pastor in 1987 was Ruby Murphy. Ruby is a charter member and now widowed. We had a great time remembering stories from the past and talking about each of our futures. All of the other members were either passed away or had moved to other areas of the world. We did get to spend some time with our long time friends who now live in Kenai Alaska, the Cress family. Jon, Karen, and his children were great host and gladly escorted Garrett and I to the best fishing. Tomorrow, there are eight of us leaving for South Africa and I will attempt to keep the page up to date while I am gone. We will be working with the least of these in a squatter camp outside of Johannesburg. Please keep us n your prayers. I will stay on for three more weeks to visit in two other churches and our training center for pastors in Bela Bela. Let me hear from you and remember, Life is short, you have to live it!
